Public Engagement Program

To provide a strong base for the launch of the Buhay Rizal project in 2008, YGC tapped the involvement of its employees and associates in the various initiatives of the project, through its Public Engagement Program.  Fund-raising campaigns, with the employees and associates at the forefront, were undertaken to generate funds to cover the cost of the Noli Me Tangere books for donation to public high schools.

This program is divided into 2 types:

  • Employee Campaign Program

YGC employees participated in this initiative through donations, personal or otherwise. Among the drives launched to raise the funds needed for use in the purchase of the Noli Me Tangere books were:

- Donation of Leave Credits
- PaBingo
- Food Fair
- EEI donation from OFW employees

Through the generous support and involvement of the employees, total funds raised reached P4,040,000.

For this year, YGC employees participation will once again be tapped, with another round of fund-raising campaign in the form of the sale of limited edition Buhay Rizal t-shirts.  The funds that will be generated from the sale will be used to purchase Noli books that will be donated from 2012–2014. Most of these t-shirts, bearing designs and famous quotes of Rizal provided by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, as well as company logos, will be purchased by the employees. The remaining shirts will also be given out as corporate give-away  (click for more details)

  • Bankard Customer Campaign Program

Bankard cardholders were invited to take part in the book donation program by donating their rewards points for use in buying the Noli Me Tangere books. A number of cardholders heeded the call, and because of their unselfish support to this undertaking, a total of P500,000 was raised.
