Rizal Youth Program Awarding Ceremonies
July 6, 2011

Serving as a fitting culmination to the successful staging of the week-long series of exciting activities called the Rizal Youth Program that which took place from June 27-July 1, 2011, YGC held the Awarding Ceremonies last July 6, 2011 at RCBC Plaza Courtyard. All the Top 10 placers from each contest were invited to join the event. To add more excitement to the contestants, the results of the contests were kept secret, with the winners being revealed only at the last minute. With big cash prizes awaiting the winning contestants and fabulous prize showcases awaiting the winning schools, the student-contestants, teachers, school principals and their supporters were all very eager to know the results.

The event was made all the more impressive by the presence of the DepEd Secretary, Hon. Bro. Armin Luistro and DepEd OIC for the Office of the Regional Director, Dr. Elena R. Ruiz. Both DepEd stalwarts shared their precious time with YGC and the schools. On the other hand, no less than the YGC Chairman himself, Hon. Amb. Alfonso T. Yuchengco and RCBC Chairperson, Helen Y. Dee led the list of distinguished guests from YGC.

Everyone who attended the event had a great time. They were entertained by the 3 intermission numbers performed by the student-winners, not to mention the excitement generated by the announcement of winners.

YGC Receives Plaque of Appreciation from DepEd
July 6, 2011

The event was made all the more impressive by the presence of the DepEd Secretary, Hon. Bro. Armin Luistro and DepEd OIC for the Office of the Regional Director, Dr. Elena R. Ruiz. Both DepEd stalwarts shared their precious time with YGC and the schools. On the other hand, no less than the YGC Chairman himself, Hon. Amb. Alfonso T. Yuchengco and RCBC Chairperson, Helen Y. Dee led the list of distinguished guests from YGC.

During the awarding, the DepEd likewise conveyed its appreciation of the initiatives of YGC in advocating the life and works of our national hero, particularly in the field of education, through its Books Donation Program where 22 public High Schools received donated Noli Me Tangere Books, and through its Public Education Program, where various communication facilities were used to propagate the teachings and values of Dr. Rizal. DepEd expressed its gratitude to YGC for holding the Rizal Youth Program, a week-long series of intellectual and artistic competitions where the talents of the students of YGC’s 22 partner schools were showcased. This undertaking was actually YGC’s contribution to the celebration of the 150th birthday of our national hero.
